Our Priorities:
Reduce Fuel Loads. Advocate for vegetation management on public and private property, and urge civic leaders to maintain public property and hold property owners accountable for fire-safe landscaping.
Keep Evacuation Routes Clear. Push for unobstructed evacuation routes and restricted parking on red flag days.
Educate and Empower Residents. Share information on defensible space, home hardening, and wildfire prevention, including coordinating educational sessions with the El Cerrito Fire Department.
Secure Funding. Seek funding to support both resources for residents and ECFSC operations.
The El Cerrito Fire Safe Council is an all-volunteer nonprofit group, and your donation makes a real difference. Every contribution helps fund education and outreach, advocacy with civic leaders, grant-seeking efforts, and advocating for on-the-ground projects to reduce wildfire risk — from defensible space programs to home hardening resources.
